In short
- Changed on October 25, 2026: we added the Meta Pixel, its cookies and the events it reports (section 5.3).
- Trovemont keeps at most three items of its own in your browser, all in local storage and each only once you make a choice: your light or dark theme, your Google Analytics choice and your Meta Pixel choice. None of them is sent to us.
- Google Analytics is not active on this site: no Google script loads and no Google cookie is set.
- The Meta Pixel, an advertising tool of Meta Platforms, Inc., sets the cookie
_fbpon trovemont.com, and_fbcwhen the link that brought you carries anfbclidparameter, as links in Meta ads do. Each lasts 90 days. They let Meta measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram and show them to people who visited our site. With the pages you view, the pixel reports some of your actions on them, such as following a link to a store or copying a code, never with your name, email address or phone number. In the United States and most other countries, the pixel runs by default. If your browser is set to a European time zone (section 5.3), it runs only once you switch it on yourself.- Cookie settings, and the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link, at the bottom of every page, turn the Meta Pixel off or on. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser counts as off.
- Our own measurement of how the site is used sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser.
- Members of our editorial team receive a cookie that lasts at most 20 minutes when they open a private preview of a draft. Readers never receive it.
- Stores and their affiliate programs may set their own cookies once you reach their websites through our links.
- You can block or delete all of it in your browser. Nothing on Trovemont stops working.
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains the cookies, the local storage and the similar technologies used when you visit Trovemont, the website at trovemont.com, published by Star Dream LLC ("we," "us"). For each item, it says what the item does, how long it lasts and who can read it.
This policy is part of our Privacy Policy, which describes all the personal information we handle and your rights. It is effective as of the "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page.
2. Cookies, local storage and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep. Your browser sends it back to that website with each request, until the cookie expires or you delete it. A first-party cookie belongs to the website you are visiting. A third-party cookie belongs to another domain.
Local storage is a space in your browser where a website can keep small pieces of information. Unlike a cookie, it is never sent to the website's servers on its own. It stays on your device until you clear it.
Similar technologies are scripts, pixels and measurement requests that send information about your visit to a server, with or without a cookie. Our site measures how its own pages are used by sending events to our own server, with no cookie and nothing stored in your browser. Our Privacy Policy lists what those events contain. The only similar technology of another company on our pages is the Meta Pixel, explained in section 5.3.
3. Everything we use
| Name | Kind | Set by | What it does | How long it lasts | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
trovemont-theme |
Local storage, first party | Trovemont, when you use the light or dark theme switch | Remembers your theme (light or dark), so the next page you open is shown in it |
Until you clear your browser's data for our site | No one. It never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers. |
trovemont-consent |
Local storage, first party | Trovemont, when you use the Google Analytics switch in Cookie settings | Remembers whether you turned Google Analytics on (granted) or off (denied) |
Until you clear your browser's data for our site | No one. It never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers. |
trovemont-ads |
Local storage, first party | Trovemont, when you use the Meta Pixel switch in Cookie settings | Remembers whether you turned the Meta Pixel on (granted) or off (denied) |
Until you clear your browser's data for our site | No one. It never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers. |
_fbp |
Cookie, first party (trovemont.com) | The Meta Pixel script | Holds an identifier of your browser, which Meta uses to measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram and to build audiences of people who visited our site | 90 days, renewed each time you visit | Meta, which receives its value with what the pixel sends. Set only in the cases described in section 5.3. |
_fbc |
Cookie, first party (trovemont.com) | The Meta Pixel script, when the link that brought you carries an fbclid parameter, as links in Meta ads do |
Records that click, so that Meta can connect your visit to it | 90 days | Meta, as above |
Meta's own cookies, such as fr |
Cookies, third party (Meta's own domains) | Meta, on its own websites | Serve Meta's own purposes, under its policy. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser, Meta may read them when the pixel runs on our pages. | Set by Meta, under its own policy | Meta only. We do not set them and cannot read them. |
trovemont_preview |
Cookie, first party, HttpOnly (page scripts cannot read it) | Trovemont | Opens a private preview of a draft guide for a member of our editorial team | Until the preview expires, at most 20 minutes | Our server only. Your browser sends it only on the pages of that one preview, whose addresses begin with /preview/. Readers never receive it. |
We set no other cookie and keep nothing else in your browser. Trovemont has no account, no sign-in and no shopping cart, so readers need no session cookie.
Our host's security check. Trovemont is hosted by Vercel Inc. If Vercel's security system ever asks your browser to pass a check before showing a page, for example during an attack on the site, Vercel may set a cookie of its own on our domain to remember that you passed it. That cookie is used only for this security check, never for measurement or advertising.
4. Google Analytics, place by place
Google Analytics is not active on this site: no Google script loads, no request goes to Google and no Google cookie is set. It can only start if it is configured when the site is built. This section will then describe what it does, place by place. Cookie settings already records your choice for when it is.
5. What others set or receive when you use our links and pages
5.1 Stores and affiliate programs
Paid links to stores first go to a short redirect on our own site, at an address that begins with /go/. Our server records the click there, as our Privacy Policy explains, without setting any cookie. It then sends you on to the store, either directly or through a redirect run by the store's affiliate program, depending on the link that program gives us.
Once you arrive, the store and its affiliate program may place their own cookies, or use similar technologies, on their own domains, to credit your purchase to Trovemont. The e-commerce platform that runs a store's website may set cookies of its own as well. These cookies belong to them. We do not set them, cannot read them and do not receive what they contain.
What travels with you is limited:
- The tracking code in the link identifies Trovemont and the offer. It does not identify you.
- Our pages tell your browser to share only our domain name, trovemont.com, with the websites you go to, and not the address of the page you were reading.
For their practices, see the privacy policy of the store you visit.
5.2 Images
Every image on our pages, including product photographs, is delivered from our own domain, trovemont.com. Product photographs are copies kept in our own storage, so viewing them does not connect your browser to a store's servers, and no other company can set a cookie through them. An image may offer a link to the original photograph. If you follow it, your browser opens that file where the store keeps it, like any other link to another website.
5.3 The Meta Pixel
We use the Meta Pixel, a tool of Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta"), to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram, and to build audiences of people who visited our site for those ads. It runs only on trovemont.com and www.trovemont.com. It never runs on other copies of the site, or on our editors' private preview pages. Our Privacy Policy lists what Meta receives through it, and explains that this is "sharing" for targeted advertising.
What it reports. Meta's script reports each page you open. Our own code also reports to Meta, as "events," some of your actions on our pages: opening a store's page, a product page, an article, a category page or the deals page; searching our site; choosing a search suggestion; following one of our links to a store; copying a coupon code; reaching 25, 50, 75 and 100 percent of a guide or an article; spending 30 seconds on a page; sharing a page with our share buttons; and following a link to one of Trovemont's own social media profiles. Each event carries only details that our site itself shows or uses, such as a store's name or a coupon code, and your search words unless they look like an email address or a phone number. It never carries your name, your email address or your phone number. On our health and wellness pages, the events name no store, product, article or category and carry no code. Section 3.5 of our Privacy Policy lists each event and its details. Our code reports these events only while the pixel runs in your browser, under the rules below, and stops at once when you turn the pixel off.
When you send a message from our contact page, our code also tells Meta that a message was sent, and nothing else about it.
- In the United States and in every place not listed below: on by default. The pixel loads when you open a page, unless you turned it off in Cookie settings or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. It then sets
_fbp, and_fbcwhen the link that brought you carries anfbclidparameter. - In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: nothing without your consent. The pixel does not load, and sets no cookie, until you yourself switch it on in Cookie settings. That choice is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by switching it off. Our code tells where you are from your browser's time zone. Every time zone whose name begins with "Europe/" counts, and so do those of Iceland, the Canary Islands, Madeira, the Azores, the Faroe Islands, Cyprus, Ceuta and Melilla, and France's overseas regions and communities in the Caribbean, South America and the Indian Ocean (Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélemy, Réunion and Mayotte). This is an approximation: a browser set to any other time zone is treated as outside these places.
Our code, not Meta, applies these rules, before the pixel's script is requested.
Meta's cookies on its own domains. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser, Meta may also read the cookies it keeps on its own domains, such as fr, when the pixel runs. These cookies are Meta's. We do not set them, cannot read them and do not receive what they contain. Meta's own policy governs them.
Meta's own use. Meta also uses what it receives for its own purposes, under its own terms and its privacy policy, at facebook.com/privacy/policy. Turning the pixel off on our site does not change what Meta does on its own services. To manage the ads Meta shows you, use the ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
6. What we do not use
- No advertising pixel or advertising cookie other than the Meta Pixel and its cookies (section 5.3).
- No social media plug-ins: the share links on some of our pages are plain links, and they load nothing from the networks until you follow one. No embedded content from other websites. Our pages are not allowed to load frames from other domains.
- No session recording and no heat maps.
- Apart from the Meta Pixel (section 5.3), nothing that lets another company follow you across websites.
7. Your choices
7.1 In your browser
Every browser lets you block cookies, delete them and clear the data a website keeps in local storage. Private browsing windows also discard them when you close the window. Instructions: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge.
7.2 Google's opt-out add-on
Google offers the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Once installed, it prevents Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits, on Trovemont and on every other website that uses Google Analytics.
7.3 Cookie settings on Trovemont
The Cookie settings button at the bottom of every page opens a short panel with two switches: "Google Analytics" and "Meta Pixel (advertising)." The Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link, also at the bottom of every page, opens the same panel. There is no banner. Each choice takes effect at once and is remembered in your browser's local storage, under trovemont-consent for Google Analytics and trovemont-ads for the Meta Pixel. Your choices apply only in that browser.
Google Analytics is not active today, so its switch only records your choice for when it is.
If you turn the Meta Pixel off, it stops at once on the page you are reading: our code revokes the pixel's consent, with Meta's own command. Its script then no longer loads on our site in this browser, and we delete the _fbp and _fbc cookies on trovemont.com. Turning it off is your request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising. If your browser is set to one of the time zones listed in section 5.3, the Meta Pixel does not load until you yourself switch it on.
7.4 Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
When your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of Google Analytics and of the Meta Pixel, whatever your location and whatever you chose before, and as your request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising. Neither script loads, so neither reads nor sets its cookies, and both switches in Cookie settings show off and cannot be turned on. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, which never became an agreed standard.
7.5 If you block or delete them
Nothing on Trovemont stops working. Without trovemont-theme, pages open in the dark theme. Without trovemont-consent, the default described in section 4 applies again. Without trovemont-ads, the default described in section 5.3 applies again: outside the places listed there, the Meta Pixel runs again until you turn it off. Without the Google Analytics cookies, your visits are no longer linked together in Google's statistics. Our editors cannot open a draft preview without its cookie, but that concerns no reader.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy changes when the site changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the version in force took effect. When we add a cookie or a similar technology, we add it here before it goes live.
