In short
- Brand names, logos and product names belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the stores and products we present.
- Product photographs come from the stores that sell the products, and they remain theirs. We use them to present each store's products, as its affiliate partner.
- Some images are made with AI, most often from those photographs. Léa, Rebecca and Yuki, our virtual models, are AI-generated, not real people.
- The text of Trovemont is ours. You may quote a short passage with a link. Please do not republish our pages.
- Do you believe something here infringes your copyright? Send us a notice (section 6), and we will act on it promptly.
1. Who publishes Trovemont
Trovemont (trovemont.com) is published by Star Dream LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. You can reach us at contact@trovemont.com.
This page is part of our Terms of Use.
2. Brand names, logos and trademarks
- The names, logos and trademarks of the stores, brands and products we present belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the stores and products we write about, and only as much as that requires.
- Every store we present is an affiliate partner of Star Dream LLC, as our Affiliate Disclosure explains. Beyond that partnership, a brand's presence on Trovemont does not mean that its owner sponsors Trovemont or approves what we write.
- Trovemont and the Trovemont logo are used by Star Dream LLC as its trademarks. They are not registered trademarks.
- If you believe we use your trademark in a misleading way, write to us (section 11). The DMCA procedure below covers copyright only.
3. Product photographs
- Product photographs on Trovemont come from the stores that sell the products, usually from the store's own online catalog. They belong to the store or to its licensors, not to Trovemont.
- We use them, and sometimes retouch them, to present the store's products, in connection with our affiliate partnership with that store. Retouching can include restaging a product with AI (section 4). The store keeps all its rights in its photographs.
- When a guide shows one of a store's photographs as a figure beside a section, a visible caption credits the store.
- If a store or another rights holder asks us to stop using a photograph, or a retouched version of it, we remove it. Write to us (section 11). If you believe a use infringes your copyright, you can also send a notice under section 6.
4. Images made with AI
- Some images on Trovemont are made with AI, most often from the store's own product photographs. For example:
- a product restaged in a new setting;
- several products arranged together;
- a product worn or presented by one of our virtual models.
- Léa, Rebecca and Yuki are Trovemont's AI-generated virtual models. They are not real people. Their only role is to present products in our images. They do not use, test, review or recommend anything, they are not authors, and we never present them as customers. Our About page introduces them.
- We say so openly. Our Legal information page explains where we use AI and that some images feature our virtual models. In our guides, a line of text under each image in which one of our virtual models appears says so, and a restaged photograph carries a caption that says it was restaged or made with AI.
- Making an image with AI from a store's photograph gives us no rights in that photograph. Those rights stay with its owner.
- Do you believe an image on Trovemont uses your likeness, or a likeness you control? Write to us (section 11). We review the request promptly and, if the image uses that likeness, we remove it.
5. Our text, design and code
- The guides and other text on Trovemont are written for Trovemont. Each guide is researched and drafted with AI and checked automatically. Each guide shows "Editorially reviewed" with the date a member of our editorial team read it in full, or "Editorial review pending" until that reading happens. Our Editorial policy gives the details.
- The following belong to Star Dream LLC, to the extent the law protects them:
- the text of Trovemont;
- the selection and arrangement of its content;
- its page design;
- its code;
- the images we make.
- You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link back to the page. You may not republish a page, in whole or in large part, unless we agree in writing. The product photographs belong to the stores, so they are not ours to license.
- Facts, figures and quotations from other sources remain their owners'. Each guide lists the sources it relies on.
- Promo codes, offers and their terms belong to the stores.
- The fonts and open-source software used to build the site remain under their own licenses.
6. Reporting copyright infringement (DMCA notice)
We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement that follow the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. Most material on Trovemont is published by us rather than stored at a visitor's request, and we apply this procedure to every notice about material on Trovemont or a link on it.
If you believe that material on Trovemont, or a link on Trovemont, infringes a copyright that you own or are authorized to enforce, send a written notice to the address in section 9. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or as a person authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If one notice covers several works on Trovemont, a representative list of those works is enough.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, or of the link to it, that you want removed or disabled, with information reasonably sufficient for us to find it. The full address (URL) of each page and a description of the image or passage are the most useful.
- Information reasonably sufficient for us to contact you, such as your address, your telephone number and, if you have one, your email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
What we do. When we receive a notice that substantially includes these elements, we promptly remove the material or the link, or disable access to it. We tell you when we have done so. If your notice is missing an element, we tell you what is missing. A notice that does not substantially include these elements may not be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)(B).
Before you send a notice. You must consider whether the use is authorized by law, for example as a fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.
Not a copyright matter? Trademark concerns, likeness, privacy requests and factual corrections do not go through this procedure. See section 11.
7. Counter-notification
Visitors cannot publish material on Trovemont. If material that a store or another source supplied to us was removed because of a notice, and that source believes in good faith that the removal resulted from a mistake or from misidentification of the material, it may send a counter-notification to the address in section 9. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), a counter-notification must include:
- The sender's physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and of the location (URL) where it appeared before.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the sender has a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material.
- The sender's name, address and telephone number.
- A statement that the sender consents to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where the sender's address is located or, for an address outside the United States, of any judicial district in which Star Dream LLC may be found.
- A statement that the sender will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice, or from that person's agent.
What we do. We promptly send a copy of the counter-notification to the person who sent the original notice, and tell them that we may restore the material in 10 business days. Unless that person first tells us, at the address in section 9, that they have filed a court action seeking an order to restrain the use of the material, we may restore it no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after we receive the counter-notification. Whether to restore the material remains our decision. We do not restore material while such a court action is pending.
The warning in section 6 about misrepresentations (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)) applies to counter-notifications too.
8. Repeat infringers
Trovemont has no user accounts and no subscribers, and visitors cannot publish content on it. If valid notices show that material supplied by the same store or source infringes copyright more than once, we may stop using material from that source. If we ever offer accounts, we will adopt and publish a policy for terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of repeat infringers.
9. Where to send a notice
Star Dream LLC has not designated an agent with the U.S. Copyright Office. Send notices of claimed copyright infringement, and counter-notifications, to Star Dream LLC:
- Email: contact@trovemont.com, with "Copyright notice" in the subject line
- Mail: Star Dream LLC, Attn: Copyright, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States
If we designate an agent, we will name the agent on this page.
10. Governing law
This page is part of our Terms of Use, and their section on governing law and courts applies to it. A counter-notification carries its own consent to the jurisdiction of a federal court, as section 7 describes. Nothing on this page limits where a copyright owner may bring a claim that federal law allows.
11. Other requests and contact
Some requests are not notices of copyright infringement: a trademark concern, a likeness, a photograph you want credited differently or removed, a factual correction. For those, write to contact@trovemont.com or use our contact page. We confirm receipt within 10 business days and answer within 30 days.
